Green Rooibos - Honeybush - Red Rooibos - Vanilla Rooibos Caffeine-Free The attribute that makes Green Rooibos an unusual variety when compared to Red Rooibos tea, is that it is completely unfermented, it contains a slightly herbal aftertaste, and brews light in color which makes it a perfect companion to those that feel fermented Red Rooibos is too sweet. Green Rooibos is a hearty brew- a soft golden color with (an amber hue), and warm scent. This tea is considerably higher in anti-oxidants, trace minerals, and nutrients, when compared to traditional Rooibos. Vanilla is the only orchid that produces an edible fruit. One of the most well known flavors in the world, production is both labor and time intensive, but well worth the complexity of sweet and spicy flavor. Honeybush (Cyclopia Intermedia) is a native shrub to the Cape of South Africa. The mild taste and caffeine-free properties make this fermented brew a favorite of children. Honeybush contains polyphenols that boost the immune system and help reduce degenerative effects of disease. Red Rooibos is a caffiene-free alternative to traditional tea. Rooibos, (pronounced "roy-boss") is indigenous to South Africa and is a naturally occuring plant used to make a tisane (herbal tea). Green Rooibos is an unfermented rooibos with a light, fruity flavor reminiscent of green tea. Rooibos has been popular in South Africa for generations and is drunk for its abundant health benefits including unusually high amount of antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Iron, Calcium, and Potassium. The resulting brew is reddish-brown in color, hence the name "red tea." In South Africa, it is customary to drink rooibos sweetened and served with a splash of milk.
